Brief introduction to VPC

The full name of VPC is virtual private cloud, which is translated into Chinese as virtual private cloud. ARM hostingBut in some cases, it is also converted to a private network or a proprietary network and so on. There is some confusion here as to whether a VPC is a cloud or a network. The answer is that a VPC is both a cloud model and a network model, but from a services and technology perspective.

Virtual private cloud

First, from a services perspective, Cloud platfrom provider VPC refers to the cloud, which is consistent with its literal meaning. For infrastructure services (IaaS), the cloud refers to a pool of resources. You've probably heard of public clouds, private clouds, hybrid clouds. However, VPC does not belong to any of these three clouds. This is a collection of resources running on a public cloud that isolates some public cloud resources for a user and gives them to that user for private use. A VPC is a cloud that is managed by a public cloud and runs on common resources. However, it ensures that the resources between each user are isolated, and users are not affected by other users when using it, and feel like they are using their own private cloud.

In this traditional sense, virtual private cloudVPC is not through a Network, we teachers can compare VPC and it as a is literally close concept: VPN (Virtual Private Network). VPN isolates Chinese users from the public network information resources in a virtual environment. For example, IPsec VPN can be used to build a tunnel for social connection to the private data network of enterprise users in the Internet development of Internet banking. MPLS VPN is a VRF that is directly divided and isolated on the basis of PE devices of operators to different users. From the point of view of providing technical services, if VPC refers only to network learning, it is the same concept as VPN. Therefore, from the perspective of service providers provided by the public cloud, a VPC should be fully understood as a collection of isolated educational resources provided to users.

VPCS were first proposed by AWS in 2009 [1], but some elements of VPCS existed before they were proposed. A VPC simply repackages these elements into a private cloud. After a VPC, a cloud host can use only the corresponding elements in the VPC. From this perspective, a VPC is more like a public cloud service provider offering services in a packaged form.

Users can create one or more VPCS on the public cloud, one for each department. Create VPC connections for the departments to be connected.

At the same time, users can also use a VPN to connect their internal data center to the public cloud (a hybrid cloud) on the VPC.

Regardless of the use case, VPC allows users to design how to store their data on the public cloud in a more intuitive way.

VPC hardware lease mode

The development of the VPC Hardware Tenancy is also a social service work model provided by a public cloud. A VPC has two hardware rental modes: shared and dedicated. VMS in a virtual private Cloud (VPC) can run on the shared hardware resources. VMS in different VPCS can be isolated from each other using VPCS. Dedicated VMS in a virtual private Cloud (VPC) run on dedicated hardware resources. VMS in different VPCS are physically isolated from each other. In addition, VPCS help students isolate themselves from Chinese networks. The exclusive economy model has become the equivalent of users being able to rent physical hosts directly from public cloud providers. Dedicated teaching model research is suitable for users in their own countries who are sensitive to relevant data quality and security issues, but because these learning physical hosts are still managed by public cloud service providers.

Whether shared or proprietary, VPCS run on public cloud resources and are managed by a public cloud service provider.
